Program: The Maryland 400 by Major General (Ret) Jim Adkins. Every Marylander
should understand the sacrifice these brave Marylanders made to save George
Washington’s Army at the Battle of Long Island. These brave patriots who “held
the line” hence saving the army and the revolution, earning Maryland the
moniker “The Old Line State.”
