National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

The SAMUEL CHASE CHAPTER NSDAR held its first organizational meeting September 12, 1933, at which time Mrs. Louise Tilghman Lambert was named as the Organizing Regent. As a result of the fifteen organizing members’ efforts, a strong foundation was established which served to guide this newly-formed chapter toward their goals of educating new Americans and the youth of Salisbury about the history of America, its flag, its constitution, and the meaning of freedom.

Over the years this chapter has remained committed to the objectives of its founders and of the NSDAR. This past year, the Samuel Chase Daughters partnered with the Department of Defense in recognizing Vietnam Veterans. Our Patriot Project Committee worked closely with a local charity, Operation We Care, to increase service to veterans by shipping care packages to those currently deployed. This committee clipped many a coupon for our families overseas. Veterans Day found our daughters distributing hand-made lap robes to veterans in local nursing homes.

This chapter focuses on retaining and growing membership through interesting & informative monthly meetings, along with our ‘DAR After Dark,’ an evening get together, and summer luncheons. All strive to build and grow relationships for new and existing members, especially those not able to attend our monthly weekday luncheon meetings.

Activities and events with other DAR chapters and with our local National Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) chapter joins us in like-minded fun.  Friendships are built and bonds strengthened. Field trips and luncheons leave us with a bucketful of wonderful memories.

We would love to talk to you about becoming a member of the NSDAR.   We meet the first Friday of the month October through May of the calendar year.
