The William Winchester Chapter was organized on December 28, 1938 and is the only DAR Chapter in Carroll County, Maryland.
Our chapter welcomes new members from diverse backgrounds who have a variety of interests.
Any woman is eligible for membership into the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) who is at least 18 years old and can prove she is a lineal, bloodline descendant from an ancestor who fought in the American Revolutionary War or aided in achieving American independence.
She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her patriot ancestor. More details are available by contacting us.
A prospective member of the William Winchester Chapter NSDAR must attend one chapter meeting before she will be considered as a potential member of the chapter. After she is accepted, the chapter registrar works with her to prepare her membership application and supporting documentation.
